Bloomers Testimonials
Here at Bloomers, we obviously think our products are great but don’t just take our word for it…
“Lovely Bakewell Pudding”
Bloomers is tucked away down a lovely old part of Bakewell. Only a small shop window but plenty to feast your eyes on inside. We purchased a Bakewell Pudding which on our arrival back home warmed up and scoffed. It was delicious, our only regret is that we didn’t purchase more. Most definitely we will be back for more.

The ONLY shop from which to buy a really tasty, totally authentic and delicious Bakewell pudding.

“Top quality Bakewell from one of the original places”
Quaint little bakery not so touristy as the others. I prefer the original Bakewell pudding from here while my wife liked the one from the Old Original Bakewell Pudding Shop. We got both to compare and so should you!

“Cooked to perfection”
The steak and stilton pies are ALWAYS cooked to perfection. We must have had dozens over the years and never one below par.

“Best ever!”
We visited this shop at the weekend. It’s packed full of delicious goodies. We bought Bakewell tarts and steak and ale pie – wish we had bought more. Best ever!
Will be ordering online as it’s a 4 hour drive !!

“The home of Bakewell Pudding – one of…”
Visited on an extraordinarily busy August Bank Holiday Monday. Being the birthplace of the Bakewell Pudding it was essential we try this local delicacy.
The queues here were shorter than the main street bakery though the product seemed genuine enough, and we were served by a lady who was cheerful and friendly.
When we returned to the car there was a huge line of traffic waiting to leave the car park, so we tucked into, and enjoyed our first Bakewell Pudding whilst we waited to continue our journey.

“Delicious”
Stayed in Bakewell for a week and found Bloomers Mediterranean quiche lovely with very thin pastry, bought for friends coming for lunch. Everyone enjoyed it.
I tried various pies and cakes over the week, also the Derbyshire oatcakes. Might be slightly more expensive but all very good.

“A wonderful day out”
Had a wonderful day in Bakewell, enjoying the hustle and bustle of the market, the lovely independent shops and the jewel in the crown was a Bakewell pudding from Bloomers which I took home and enjoyed that evening.

“Excellent pudding”
This shop had a lovely selection and was reasonably priced. The Bakewell pudding was delicious. Much nicer than the shop on the main Street.

“…looked and smelled amazing!”
My wife and I have just been on a long awaited trip to Haddon Hall, and Bakewell.
Wanting a souvenir or two and without sounding disrespectful to any of the other bakers, we liked the look of what was on offer from Bloomers Of Bakewell, Water St. Everything on display looked (and smelled) amazing.
Spoiled for choice we bought a few Bakewell Puddings and Bakewell Tarts as well as some other food.
After a three hour drive home we tucked into our Bakewell offerings….and they tasted ‘heavenly’!
Honestly, you have to try this place. The food is gorgeous. My wife has never liked the taste of almonds and/or Bakewell tarts that you get from supermarkets. But, she completely finished every piece of Bakewell pudding from Bloomers.
Lovely people, great food. We will be back, even if it is a 5 – 6 hour around trip!

“Cute little shop”
Cute little shop and lots of tasty things to try! Staff was extremely helpful in answering all of my random questions and could literally tell me what the ingredients were in every single thing I pointed at. A lot to choose from!

“Bakewell Delights!”
We stopped here on the way from the Peak District back to Oxford and the stop-off for Bakewell tarts *and* puddings was well worth it!… absolutely delicious!!
We also learned the difference between the Bakewell tart and pudding, but you’ll have to stop at Bloomers to find out for yourself.
They also have delightful savoury pies, which we had for dinner. A must-do in Bakewell!
